Ok, so everytime I try to open up IE (lastest version) it tell me im not connected. But, I'm able to surf the internet perfectly on Firefox.
The only reason this is bothering me is because when I try to log into MSN Messinger it tells me I'm not connected.
Could anyone like help configure the setting or maybe tell me if MSN could be used through FireFox or something. Any help is appreciated.

also sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

Go to "File" and make sure "Work Offline" is unticked.

I don't think msn and IE are related. You also can use but first make sure you're not offline on browser either in proxy settings.

In my experience a number of things are affected by the work offline option in IE, can't say for sure that MSN is but reckon it's work checking anyway.

Cheaked MSN Messinger and it said "You are currently not connected to .NET Messinger Service.

How do you connect to the web? modem or broadband?

Check tools/internet options/connections and see if there are any dialup or VPN settings listed. if there are, tick "Never dial a conncetion"

I can, if work offline is checked MSN will NOT connect. Its caught me a couple of times but does bring up a dialog saying your off line (sub text you idiot) do you want to go back on line yes/no?

To be honest I wouldn't even start to diagnose MSN issues untill I'd downloaded the latest version as the full file and installed it. Any chance Brian08 you've done that?

Edit> Have you tried MSN> Tools > options > connection > connection trouble shooter?

    Eh, I have broadband.

When I troubleshoot it says IE's offline setting (but when I put it online it asks for a username and password and domain which I don't know/have) proxy server and key ports.

usually this kind of message is shown when you're in a corportative environ with proxy server to access internet. Check this option, in Tools > Connections > Proxy server
