Question about shoes..

Hi, I'm fairly new to cycling, have been going out on weekly leisure spins since the end of September. About 9 weeks ago I invested in a road bike and when I got it the guy in the shop fitted it with reversible pedals so that when I went to buy the clip-on shoes I wouldn't have to buy new pedals as well. I finally decided to take the plunge and bought a pair of SPD shoes online which I was told would be compatible with my pedals. It was only when they arrived today that I realised you need to also buy cleats to attach to the shoes. Do you need to get these fitted on or could I just pick them up in a bike shop when I'm in Dublin tomorrow and put them on myself? Sorry if this seems like a silly question:confused:
