Spilled water on my mac.

    Hi, I accidentally managed to spill a drink of water on my mac book the other day and now it will not even turn on. I have it just over 2 years so my guarantee with apple has expired. Can anybody please recommend anywhere where I might be able to get it fixed in Dublin? or how much we would be talking here. I would rather purchase a new one if I have to fork out like €400 or €500 to get it fixed.

    It really depends on what water damage has been done, you may only need to replace 1 part rather than everything so it might work out a lot cheaper than you think.

    Bring it to any PC repair centre, they will be able to check the components for you. Chances are you might have just fooked over the motherboard and not the RAM or hard drive.

    If it was a drop of water then try the ole hot-press trick (stick it there for a week and begin taking up religious beliefs). If that fails, then drop it into Mactivate in Blanchardstown (if you're in Dublin)

    Your guarantee wouldn't cover you for spilling water on it anyway.
    Open the lid, and place upside down on a towel in the airing cupboard for a few days.
