Was just wondering would there be any die-hard supporters on the forum who have visted all 32 main county grounds(ie Donegal- Ballybofey, Tyrone-Omagh etc), fair play if ye have.

I'd say I've been fairly close with exception to about 7 or 8: Waterford, Wicklow, Antrim, Down, Louth, Kilkenny, Wexford and Carlow.

I'm nearly completed the 32 stadiums. Just Portlaois, Omagh and Leitrim to go

Flukey who posts here has been to most. He has been at every AI final of the past 25 years bar the centenary one in Thurles.

id find it hard to believe that alot of people have been to all grounds, but fair f*cks if you have been. ive been to all in munster except waterford as kerry have only played there once or 2 times over the past few years. ive been to navan and obviously dublin, galway too. but apart from that, cant see many other grounds that i could have been expected to have been to. theres about 12 counties in ireland that kerry have not played in in the past 15 years.

i cant see myself going to wicklow, sligo, leitrim, roscommon, antrim, louth, kilkenny, longford, carlow, fermanagh, derry over the next while either.

only places id consider going would be armagh, tyrone, mayo and maybe somewhere like laois as its a quick trip from dublin.

No cant say ive been to all, that is nearly impossible.
Following Co team in football & hurling, and club in football has brought me to most.

Been in all 12 in Leinster, all in Munster except Cork, all in Connacht bar Sligo, and only to Casement & Clones in Ulster

I'm short four. My ould fella has been to all 32 - which is why I've so many, him bringing me to matches as a young fella and all...

Nowhere near it for me. Been to all in Munster except Fitzgerald Stadium in Kerry, and in Leinster the only ones are Croker and Nowlan Park.

Can't say I'm surprised at the amount who haven't been to Walsh Park. You're not missing much :(

Have you ever been to a cow shed? If so Aughrim is worse than that!!!

Coming from Wicklow I have to say that Aughrim is absolutely shocking, there's a "Stand" that you need a tetanus shot for going near, then the far side there are benches but absolutely no cover, it really is shocking. The pitch its self is not bad but at the same time its nothing to write home about. And people wonder why Wicklow has never won anything of any importance? We dont even have a decent county ground set up, up until 5-8 years ago players had to run through the carpark, through supporters to get out onto the pitch from the dressing rooms, very safe were a fight to break out!

I hear Aughrim is a terrible venue alright.Only remember seeing it from when Wicklow beat Offaly in the Tommy Murphy Cup in 2007 and it looked like a pitch with a shed and some seats around it.

I don't particularly think too much of Pairc Tailteann as an intercounty venue.Whoever designed it must not have put too much emphasis on it.I think there should be proper stands/terraces behind the goals.

Breffni Park i lovely. Its real big and has the design of a proper intercounty ground. Why they need such a big stadium is beyond me though. Its twice the size of Parnell Park and probably has the same attendance rate.

I hear Ballyshannon (Donegal) and Crossmaglen (Armagh) are terrible venues.

I should be in Tullamore for the first round of the O Byrne Cup and then I can add that to my list with Ballybofey and Pearse Stadium,Galway when the league gets underway.

Will McHale Park be finished in time for when Dublin travel to Mayo or does Mayo have a second county ground for backup.AFAIR they have one in Ballina?

Ye, hate Ballyshannon myself, never liked playing on it either, pure bog if sees rain at all. Stupid location in Donegal for county games anyhow, takes anybody from north Donegal over 2 hours to get there.

I agree both grounds are dumps. As for Ballyshannon another ground that is a dump sorry for been so negative. i have been there twice and it always seems to rain there

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 220 ✭✭Declan30

Dr Hyde Park in Roscommon is the worst for me. Limerick played 3 yrs in a row up there in the Quailfers.Rain twice up there and the mud walking out of it was a disgrace.

Have been to all in connacht . all In munster all ages of games took me to them all.
In Lenister have not seen wexfords new ground suppose to be super.Or have not been to louth one either.Might get there in feb 09 as play them in the nfl league round one.
In ulster there are 4 i have not been to omagh, crossmaglen, newry and enniskillen closed down the last time we played fermangh and had to go to lisnkea.

Can't say I have been to that many except all the ones in Munster and just a couple in Leinster and Connaught.

Hard to support Limerick in football until recently enough when they brought us to exotic places like Carlow and Roscommon:D

    Cork- Pairc Ui Chaoimh
    Dublin- Croke Park
Louth- Drogheda (agree, its a hole)
Fermanagh- Brewster Park (long journey up, even longer back :( )
    Down- Parc Esler (nice ground)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,706 ✭✭✭premierstone

Yeah as a Tipp man dont really get to visit alot of grounds ( what with Football been a no go :D) been to all the county grounds in the strong hurling counties alright, funnily enough Parnell Park was the only one i hadnt been to till the qualifier in 2007, nice ground actually, I would think that Walsh park in waterford and Cusack park in Ennis are the two shall we say least desirable county grounds Ive been at

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,591 ✭✭✭✭Aidric

I've been to all the grounds in Munster as well as Croke Park, so pretty limited really.

Not being smart here, but why did you chose to walk across the training pitch ?
Naturally it's going to be muddy in the rain !!

The entire main pitch is surrounded by paved/gravelled area. There's absolutely no need to walk on any mud. Seriously.
