Anyone on for heading out? Forecast is icy so I am not on for anything early in the morning.

    Tonight
Rain still affecting the east early tonight will clear and most areas will be dry for the rest of the night. However wintry showers will affect the north and west later in the night - some heavy by morning. Winds will ease and it'll turn very cold. A widespread sharp ground [frost] will form with the risk of icy patches. Lowest temperatures will range minus 2 to +3 degrees - coldest in the north.

    Tomorrow
Tomorrow Saturday will be very cold with sunny spells and showers. The showers will be heavy and frequent across the north and west with falls of hail and sleet.

I am. Got my 28C's on, so don't expect any speed.

Shall we say 12.30 start, weather Dependant?

Hmmm, after the last few weeks I'm very wary about the ice. I think a later start might be justified and possibly avoiding the high ground too, given the way the road froze over last week. I might be along, but I've got a rake of stuff to do tomorrow afternoon as well. Got my turkey race on Sunday, so I wouldn't mind getting a spin in to get the legs going again.

I'm gonna do my usual and "wait and see".

Maybe a fixie day if we are avoiding the mountains?

Am interested in joining the group for a spin, if that's ok.... just wondering - where's the meet point. I see references to the bridge in Dundrum and also to Joe Daly's shop. Am strictly a leisure cyclist so a low spin might be the right intro for me.

Hope I'm not intruding - been lurking here for over a week - hard to find courage at my age:o

The more the merrier mate! Meeting point is marker 'B'here -basically under the LUAS bridge in Dundrum -across the road a bit from Joe Dalys. Can't miss us really -we're the group of cyclists :)

Got that, thanks - no missing the bridge at any rate. 12.30 then

12:30 is good for me, see you there. Might take the fixie if we are not going up the hills.

Looking outside this morning, I see no frost or ice- I think the hills are a possibility today.

Nice spin there today lads, sorry I missed the first bit. We went on up Sally Gap and back by Lugalla and Djouce. No ice visible although temperatures were dropping severely towards the end; I reckon the forecast is just off by a day and it will be very frosty/icy tomorrow.

Yes,a real nice spin.86km for me.It got quite nice in the sun past Kilikee but,as Blorg said, was much colder by the time we got back to the city. Was well worth it though. Will post some pics in a while(when my fingers thaw)

The photo of Blorg with the mountain in the background is good. Odd contrast between the dark green foliage and then the mountain lit up by the sun

It does look cold, there is a certain Bosco effect (red cheeks) going on

It didn't. I was up in time for it alright, but alas didn't feel sober enough to take to the roads.

I know how you felt. I tried to get on the rollers on Sunday afternoon, but got off them just as quick and decided to clean the bike instead.

Want to thank the group for tolerance. Am considering changing my name to "Old English Sheepdog" in the midst of Greyhounds. Will concentrate on getting up hills for now. Oh, Emty, either you'll need to get a better zoom or I'll need to speed up. See you all when I improve - I didn't get clamped.
