    Hi

Im 24 and have been temping last few months since finishing a job in a bank.

Im being let go from the temp job I currently have next week, (started 3 weeks ago, was supposed to be six months job) and the agency have said they'll talk to me in the new year but cant guarantee there will be anything (jobs rare etc etc)

Would that qualify as 'just cause' for asking for my P45 and signing on while continuing my job hunting? (I am actively job hunting)

I want to take a completely different route career wise than the jobs the agency provide so temping with them is getting me no where.

Thanks for any advice ye can give!! :)

    :)

I am signing on, just wondering would anyone know if I'll be treated as having left my job with 'just cause' or just having left, which means a delay on getting the dole right? sorry should have explained that better, was in early this morning ;)

If you've been let go from a job, temp or perm, then there should be no restrictions or delays on recieving the dole.

You've been let go because there's no work. It doesn't get justier than that.

According to a girl in Citizens Info last week, with the current economic downturn, they have done away with the 6 weeks waiting period for those who have quit jobs and provided you have a P45 & you do qualify, the social welfare will process your claim and backdate the monies from your first application to them.

Sheesh! You didn't leave, you were let go!!!! At least as far as your last job goes, which is all that matters.

And since you've finished work for the year, of course you should be getting your P45. Which you don't need to have immediately to submit your claim, BTW.
