Has anybody got the real story of what happened at Coolacrease in Co Offaly after the War of Independence? RTE says the locals killed two young Protestant men to get their hands on their land and also as part of an ethnic cleansing exercise. Local historians say that the two Protestant were killed as they had attacked an IRA roadblock near Crinkle British barracks and it had nothing to do with land or ethnic cleansing just plain old civil war politics. Anybody got any local knowledge?
