Cant delete read only files from usb mp3 player

    i copied some albums on my new song walkman 4GB mp3 / video player

    however i copied directly off a dvd so the albums are now read only ... i cant seem to delete them off it either on my pc or on the device itself, i get a cannot delete file its read only error, any way of getting around this? Thanks

    Assuming Windows XP or similiar - right click the file, go to properties and untick "read only".

    You could format it although that will delete everything on it.

    not sure if that will damage other folders / files tho
