Still waiting for my washer dryer

I have recently bought a fridge cooker, and washer/dryer from a wellknown local electrical shop in Castlebar, and I made my order two weeks ago, and paid up front for the applicances, a mistake I think now. I got the fridge and cooker delivered a week later, but I am still waiting for my washer/dryer. They said that it is not in stock, and they have to wait for it to come in etc, but I just rang up there and they said it is due in tomorrow, Friday, and to ring them in the morning. It is a whirlpool which is supposed to be a good make, and there is an eight year parts guarantee with it, which is partly why I spent the money on it, but I am getting really fed up with the waiting, and the poor customer service which this shop gives. When the delivery guy came, he just put the appliances in the kitchen, and didnt help me to take any of the packaging off, and didnt take away any packaging. I don't know if thats normal, or not. But I am really sorry that I went with them, now, because it is just really frustrating to have paid for an item that you can't have access to. I am very sure that if I had received an appliance, and the shop was still waiting for my money to arrive, they would be very vociferous in their demands for the payment.

I can imagine your frustration alright but tomorrow is Friday and hopefully you'll have your appliance then.

I don't know about the packaging but I presure you're not too far from the recycling centre between Castlebar and Newport and you can get rid of it there for the €2 charge per recycling visit. Bring all your other stuff for recycling at the same time.

Finally, the whirlpool stuff is pretty good and the warranty is useful BUT make sure you complete the warranty stuff and register it with whirlpool with the 30days (check this!!) you have to do it.

Mine went beyond this timeframe and I had a lot of hassle to get it registered for free.

Hope this helps and you get sorted tomorrow. :)

    Thanks,

Well, I rang the shop on Friday, and it still hasn't come in, but they said they should have it in on Tuesay, all I can do is wait, getting frustrated is pointless, although last week, I wasn't as zen-like! That's a good idea about the recycling, and I must send off the warranty straight away too as I have a habit of putting things on the long finger. Anyway hopefully all will be sorted soon.

if its a zanussi appliance then there will be delays ,production shutting down in italy and moving to poland ,

on the thing about them not unwrapping it for you, what would happen if they caused damage to your property ie scratching your floor?
does the postman open your letters for you ?
