Greys Anatomy and Desperate Housewives completely snubbed.

I really disppointed with Elisabeth Moss from Mad Men's snub - she is the best supporting actress on TV.

    Kevin Connelly - Entourage

I'm sorry, but does :D at the end of a list actually mean something? Any chance of an oul' opinion on any of the nominations there from you JP or are they reserved for the showbiz forum because they won't let you away with posts like this over there?

    bit harsh?

Looks like cable has crushed network TV.

Not really. They changed the charter in the showbiz forum as a direct result of JP's posts where there'd just be a quote from a news source and a smiley or two word remark at the end of it. No opinions or discussion points were ever offered.

I think it's been heading that way for a while now. The cable channels have been consistently producing higher quality and more innovative shows for the last few years and it looks like the networks have been unable to do anything to match them.

I edited JP Liz's original post to make it legible

I think a change to the charter is also on the cards.

I'll eat my hat if Mary-Louise Parker doesn't win. The season 4 finale of Weeds pretty much guarenteed it. John Hamm is another sure thing. He was astounding in the penultimate episode of Mad Men S2. Also YAY True Blood! Thoroughly deserved nomination. Anna Paquin, not so much. How on earth is she on that list?

Can't believe Generation Kill isn't on the mini-series list, though. It was incredible. The Shield and The Wire are ignored for the final time too, I see, which is a complete joke.

The Golden Globes are a joke ,a farce.
Backslapping effort by the main networks.

Of the 5 mini-series nominees, 4 are cable and only one is from one of the networks, so I fail to see where you got that analysis from. In addition, the networks have no involvement with them, they're awarded by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
