2nd hand 580EX MKI or new 430EX MKII

    Hi,

    For a complete novice with a 400D(me), what would you recommend?
    A new 430EX MKII or a 2nd hand 580EX MK1

    given that they're both roughly around the €200 mark.

    I've looked at a great comparison here and the things the jump out at me are:

    1. No Weatherproofing on 580
    2. Loud power recycling on 580
    3. Plastic hotshoe on 580
