Gonna treat myself to a few cheap games off the PS Store this Christmas. Thinking Wipeout and Pixeljunk Eden. Any other/better recommendations? I just need something that's instantly playable and will last a long time.

Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo, I haven't played the PS3 version, but I got hooked on the PC.
I bought Destruction Derby though, eurgh it really looks FAR worse than I remember, total waste of money. :(
There's a pretty poor crop of games on the PSN store IMO... it's either something I've never heard of and they give no info about and I can't be bothered googling for, or some really bad PS1 game. (Where's wipeout2097, resident evil, etc.?)
Prices are a bit daft too.

The Last Guy - I think it's only €7.99 and it's excellent. Really difficult in places and quite funny.

There seems to be three types of PSN game. The proper PS3 title, available through the PSN (Burnout Paradise, WarHawk, Wipeout HD etc.), the retro PSN remake (Prince of Persia Classic, Bionic Commando Rearmed, Megaman 9 sort of, etc.) and the 'true' original PSN game (Super Stardust HD, Pain, echochrome).

Out of the full PS3 PSN games, Wipeout HD is probably the best, the rest can all be bought in shops anyway.

The best of the remakes, imo, is the Prince of Persia game. Really enjoyable and brings back some good memories.

As for the smaller, 'true' PSN games, I love Super Stardust HD. Addictive like crack.
