    Hi all

I watched a program on RTE THIS WEEK on racing pidgeons.

They mentioned that they can fly up to 60mph - is this true and does it apply to the wild pidgeons ?

Converting the figure above to meters per second = 16m/s

Taking for an example of taking a shot at em at 40 meters away

How far should you aim in front of them?

And what velocity are the likes of your standard 4s and 6s travelling at?

Im finding them very hard to take down - my sugcess rate would be down to 1 in every 4-5 flying in full flight at 40 odd meteres....

There good very sport though - seeing them in there hundreds this year...

Good lord, that's all very scientific!

Try leading one by the length of your gun - if that doesn't work - double it! If that fails, double the lead again and so on.

If all that fails, check your gun fit on a pattern plate and see if it's pointing where you think it's pointing! Now harm to check your mount to make sure you are mounting correctly and consistently.

As they say, "A mismount is a missed bird"
