I work as a spammer, I'll go for the douglas adams quote here
"I refuse to prove that I exist," says God, "for proof denies faith, and without faith I am nothing."
"But," says Man, "the Babel fish is a dead giveaway isn't it? It could not have evolved by chance. It proves that you exist, and so therefore, by your own arguments, you don't. Q.E.D."
"Oh dear," says God, "I hadn't thought of that," and promptly vanishes in a puff of logic.
"Oh, that was easy," says Man, and for an encore goes on to prove that black is white and gets himself killed on the next zebra crossing."

    :D
    Controversy

The Paddy Power company has been criticised by animal rights and animal welfare organizations for allowing bets on Spanish bullfights. On their Spanish website, the company invites bets on the number of bulls’ ears taken during specific bullfights.

In November 2008 the bookmaker was criticised by a spokesperson for the American Embassy in Ireland for offering odds on the assassination of US President-elect Barack Obama.

It actually started out at 33-1 or something. Then, due to a few stories in the media... not sure which ones (might have been the hadron collider etc) there was an influx of betters.... came all the way down to 4-1.
    Absolutely nuts.

What's worse is that God has to be proven to be an omnipresent god....and by next Dec :D

I wonder what the odds are on there being a regulator....

And how do you suggest we separate idiots from their money?

(And before I get a religious attack, I meant people that bet on scientific proof that there is a god)

So surely you can just bet a million pounds on god not existing and then ask them to prove that he does, they can't and you win...

    Sign me up:pac:

Strangely they dont allow you bet against it. Even at 1/10 I'd take it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,984 ✭✭✭Degag

I'd have thought that it would be illegal in some way, as in reality there is no chance anybody will actually win on this....

I used to work in Paddy Powers and I was once told that they purposely do crazy bets or offensive advertising as it gets into the papers/on the news and they get themselves some free advertising.

If there's someone willing to bet on it there's someone there to calculate the probability, the odds won't be there if there's no market.

Worth a silly fiver if you ask me :pac:
