Far Cry 2 is currently only €25 on play.com. Is it worth getting for that price.

At that price I suppose. Then again you can have mine for €20

Personally I don't know how it scored so well. I found it very repetitive and fairly boring and I'm fecking easy to please.

I'm clearly on the other side of the fence.

If you are looking for a traditional FPS, this is not for you. Best buying either COD:WAW or perhaps Resistance 2.

Far Cry 2 is a different animal. If you play this game expecting a normal FPS experience you will be disappointed. What the game does incredibly well though, is create an open world for you to explore in any way you like. If you don't like a particular buddie of yours, kill him. If you want to work both sides of the conflict and make more money, do that.

The only gripe I have with this game is its multiplayer, but tbh, I didn't buy it for that.

As I said, I'm on the other side of the fence, compared to those who have replied already. I would advise you to get it.

Oh how the worm has turned. When I first posted that this was a lousy game, I was blasted by the fanboys (Hi Otacon!!) but am so glad to see that my views on this overhyped boring repetitive game are shared by others.

I traded my copy in after a week of playing this useless game and got €30 for it (and as I'd only paid €31.00 for it due to a mistake in CDWOW's pricing, this was the only plus point in having this game). The fact that this relatively new game is selling at half the initial price after just 6 weeks or so is a sign that its ****e in my humble opinion.

It is worth it but there is some conditions you have to be willing to put in the time buying a game like this and playing it for a few hours or trading it in after a week is completly pointless as you will have barely scratched the surface of it.

I think there are 2 types of games 1 thats mindless all set out in front of you, you just have to point and press the buttons ( not saying thats a bad thing just that it doesnt take much thinking ) lets say traditional FPS like COD Resistence etc. That are all go from the first second.

2nd Type of games are the ones where the more you put in the more you get out that its left up to you how you play nothing is preset and they require far more thinking and interaction than the other straight FPS. While not quite a RPG like fallout 3 Far cry would be closer to fallout than COD for me anyway. Yes the weapons at the start are poor yes its flustrating at times but thats the point.

Could you imagine picking up fallout a game with 100hours of gameplay and playing 30mins and deciding its crap having never seen the rest of the game ???

Articulated better than I could. +1

And I would do it again. It still pisses over FIFA with regards gameplay and that is the only yardstick that matters to me.

I'm not strictly a fps fanboy as Uncharted remains my favourite game on the PS3 - pity there's not much else in the same vein - and Deadspace would be my second choice, just shading COD4. However, for sheer gameplay enjoyability Far Cry 2 is booooooooooooooring in the extreme especially whn compared with the true Far Cry, i.e. the original on pc. Now that was one hell of a game that was fun to play, pity that cannot be said about Far Cry 2, unless you like going for long boring walks in the jungle and falling down from malaria.

Ah Sh1t, I just wasted my 1,000th post on Far Cry 2, noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
