Hi, a friend of mine is wondering about upgrading to broadband, his home does not have a land-line (used to but got rid of it as everyone uses mobiles) they have cable going to the house, do UPC require a land-line in order to get/use the broadband, also is an engineer required to call to the house or is a splitter just used to go from the wall to the upc tv box and modem, not sure myself as i use eircom

    thanks, daywalker
