so i bought a laptop for g/f, pretty basic laptop with vista. she'll be usin it for school work etc.. she needs "microsoft office home and student 2007" i thought i could just download it and install but the man said i couldnt do that and that vista would recognise that it was downloaded and wouldnt let me install it.
just wondering if this is true or do i have to fork out it:confused:

Fork out. The student price is very reasonable. For a few Euro more, get the Office 2007 Professional Plus online (www.micromail.ie or www.software4students.ie) as it has more programs that the student version.

Using cracked software is too dodgy and more trouble that it's worth, TBH. Wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. Even with these key generators and the like, updates and patches will add to the blacklist of dodgy licence keys, deactivating your software.

If you're not keen on forking out, take a look at free alternatives, such as www.openoffice.org

^^^ What he said. I'd give open office a try first. If she finds that too difficult to adjust to then buy from the above.
