Some of the things that I am fed up hearing about this year and would love if they could be banned from 2009 onwards.

    Fianna Fail / The Government
Bertie Aherne (gets a mention all to himself)
    The Recession
    The Pig Farmers
    Ryanair and Aer Lingus
    Shopping up North
    Cutbacks
    The HSE
    123.ie radio jingle
    House Prices
    Banks
    The Credit Crunch
How Ireland have a good rugby team
How Ireland have a good soccer team
How Ireland is a sporting nation
How expensive it is to live in Ireland

Just cut out all this rubbish and lets get on with it. :p

Cant think of anyone in particular actually.

just the overall disappointment and sacking of managers when we fail to qualify for a major championship.

The thing is that we over-achieve if we qualify, people shudnt really be that surprised.

It's at the stage now where no sane person expects us to qualify.

Whinging about crime in an hysterical manner.

Anything along the lines of "TeH muslims are taking over"

Any TD or Minister saying anything other than to do with the economy and related manners (Because they really are a bunch of pandering useless arseholes in the main, and f/ucking annoy me).

    Joe Duffy.

Joe Duffy whingers (Eg Mrs Moany O Whine from North Cork, who is shocked at the 'recent' tendency of Irish people to get drunk and how there was none of it in her day).

    Tony Blair.

Anything good about Thatcher, if she croaks.

Anything about American wildfires, Paris Hilton, Jade Goody or Katie French.

Its just that nothing ever hapens in Ireland so when any sort of real news comes along, the papers cling onto it for weeks and drag it out. The whole Katy French story is a perfect example. A hot chick dies over a year ago (who was relatively unknown at that point) and the papers continue to drag up the story whenever they need to fill a few column inches.

Well Chrstmas is coming so we can beat the recession by knitting jumpers as presents, jumpers in green that can be worn to cheer on Ireland in the Rugby/Soccer as they are great.

    The recession
How hard it is to find a job anywhere (great time for me to be jobsearching, eh?)
How crap the government is (I knew that already)
Any shenanigans so-called celebrities get up to.

The Property Market and everything related to it, e.g

House prices going up or down.
Interest rates going up or down.
The effect of redundancies on the property market.
The effect of immigrants on the property market.
The effect of government policy on the property market.
    Bankruptcies
Tom Parlon and the construction industry.
    The bubble bursting
    The market recovering

Whenever I com home from London it's all you people talk about, and seriously, as a nation you have a problem. You're SICK! Please get help. It's beyond an obsession and you really need to change the record.

Ah, it's a character from To Kill a Mockingbird. Sorry, probably only another American literature major would have gotten it. (I'm a nerd, and it was a bad joke anyway!) :o

    Christmas.

    Whats so great about it?

"oooohhh, its the days off from work"
er what? ....the annual holidays that we EARNED and take at our own expense?
I can take them anytime rather than waste them on the shortest, darkest days of the year when there is no-one to witness whether you are at your desk anyway. I prefer just not turn up.

    "its for the children"
Yeh, exactly, so how is this exiting to ME?
Kids high on e numbers wielding loud, noisy lumps of plastic they call toys....fook off.

    "decorations"
Decorations are minging. All of them, you cant polish a turd, Ireland looks sh1t in Winter, why not just accept it. Stay indoors and save the money for a nice Holiday somewhere hot.

    the "atmosphere"
Being asked 1,000,000 times a day "So are you all set for Christmas?" and having to queue like a sap to buy a packet of solpadeine or something non Christmas related just because there are 27 extra people in the Chemist buying rancid Chemist jewelery in the mistaken belief that it will delight some poor cnut who is going to re-wrap it and pass the tat on. ARGH !

Question: Am I all set for Christmas?
Answer: NO, I will ignore it till the last possible second and then fall into a resigned torpor until the whole sh1tstorm is over.

    "the food and drink"
    1. I can get pi$$ed anytime, its not a novelty. Mulled wine is rancid, so is eggnog.
    2. Being forced to consume 5000 calories at one sitting is not my idea of enjoyment, during the rest of the year thats called Bulimia.

I eat till Im full, thats it, I dont want to hear about the in's and out's of basting turkeys and roasting mashed peas or whatever, I've heard it several billion times before .......boring.

    "Presents"
So what, bath salts, fook off. If I want something I buy it myself. I also get zero pleasure in buying crap for other people. They dont want poxy candles and sh1t gift sets of body lotion and nail manicure sets any more than I do.

Then there is mens presents, you cant buy em what they really want, 6 hours with a Russian pole dancer so you are reduced to buying them novelty remote control cars or some other tat that will be walked on after the feed of pints.

The relentless, repetativeness of it. The horrible inevitability of it coming every year, being the same every year. The bizarre way everyone seems to fooking love it.....ARGH !!!!

If we could go a week without having some cretin post about how criminals need to be tortured/murdered by the state/both or how we need to put the army on the streets for <insert incident you're over reacting to here>
    i'd be happy.

But the void would probably be filled by blaming the government for everthing no matter how stupid. Raining? Governments fault. Stubbed your toe? Governments fault. Suspicion of food been tainted being dealt with in an efficient manner? Governments fault.

I agree he will bring a nice change. It isn't like I despise him, I did vote for him, but the way some Americans react to him (it's like they're on the verge of speaking in tongues) really, really creeps me out. At the end of the day, he's just another politician.
