    Danny Wellbeck tbh.

    Best goal I've ever seen.

I'm really a fan of the 20 pass move or deftly placed shot for goal of the month rather than the 'hit it as hard as you can' approach. Although Johnson's was a screamer I'm going to go with

    1. Ryan Taylor
    2. Stephen Ireland
    3. Robinho

    1. Wellbeck (perfect form/strike)
    2. Taylor (great awareness and deft touch)
    3. Nasri (more for the team build up than the strike itself)

I think Taylors was lucky. Don't think he was going for the chipped curling lob into the far corner.

I can't see what else he was trying...

to smack the ball at goal, but perhaps he sliced/spooned it a little.

I don't think he was trying to smack it.
Look at the angle he hit it at, there's no way he could have gotten any power on it with the way he is facing and the way the ball is coming at him.
I think he means to just toe poke it over the keeper.

    Wellbeck. On technique.

    Johnson's looked like a miss-hit fluke.

    Wellbeck. On technique.

Good hit but had acres of space to get it right.
    Johnson's looked like a miss-hit fluke.

Fluke? How?! It's not like it was a cross. He did actually mean to volley it at the goal.

    Wellbeck!

Good hit but had acres of space to get it right.

Indeed he did but the simple audacity to try that on his debut! Plus how many top class strikers to you see balooning those shots into the crowd.
    Fantastic strike.

He had the space because the game was won and the defenders probably couldn't be bothered closing someone down that was 30 yards from goal.

didn't it kinda roll down his shin?

Rafaels volley at Arsenal would make my top 3. Exceptionally difficult to execute, on his back foot - perfect tecnique with chest and volley. But, alas it ain't on the shortlist so what you gonna do?

My favourite is Robinhos, absolute class.

    1. Robinho
    2. Johnson
    3. Wellbeck

very close between 1 and 2 though...

For pure Technique it's a three way between

    Ireland
    Robinho
    Tayler

    For "thats's a cracker" factor it's either

    Johnson
    Welbeck
    Miller

    1. Wellbeck - Nice one-two and fabulous strike

    2. Collison - Great team goal

    3. Glen Johnson - Great strike

So you think Taylor's was the best.
But you voted Wellbeck's as the best.

I voted without looking at them all...

Crikey, there's been some strikes this season!

How is Johnson not winning this? It was an amazing goal.

In fairness, he's tied for first, and if I hadn't voted for Wellbeck just to piss off Xavi, he would be winning.

Don't think Taylor really meant to toe poke that in tbh. Obviously he would have lined himself up for a blast at goal but the ball was a bit ahead of him so he just stuck his boot out imo. Could be wrong.

Anyway, Johnston definitely the pick of that bunch imo.

    Taylor for me.

In all fairness the Wellbeck goal has no luck factor about it. The Glen Johnson one is partly lucky. I'm surprised nobody else like the West Ham goal. For an all around goal its by far the best. Great passing up the left side.

Funnily I see West Ham using the left more and more often since Zola took over. I wonder if its got anything to do with where he played himself?

Tbh when I play football I either play up front or in the hole behind the forwards.
And I always like to drift out to the left. It's so much easier to cut inside, open up your body, and place it in the far corner than when your on the right.
Something Thierry Henry always does and look at his goal scoring record!*

Not comparing myself to Henry in any way, shape or form. I just think it's easier to score from the left if your right footed and vice versa.

My thing with the Welbeck goal is that he hit that ball exactly to the top corner, he meant to do that. Johnson had a bit of a take a swing at it and it connected perfectly, so for me, Welbecks was better due to the technique, but I like weird things :) I also think Ireland's goal was just fantastic, such a clever finish.
