Sorry about asking such a stupid question its been quite a while since i did the leaving, my friend wants to go back to education, he passed english, irish and maths and failed the 3 other subjects, most courses require a standard Leaving so would he be able to get into PLC courses with this??

If your friend is over 23 then it may be possible to get a mature student place in third level.

Yes he would be able to get into a PLC course.
They generally require 'Leaving Cert. standard' which your friend has, rather than a specific number of grades.
He should talk to people at the college he is interested in.
