Her book is down to the last 6 but I'll eat a copy of the Chairman of the Boards - Master of the Mile if she wins it looking at the judging panel because even if it was the most amazing book ever half the panel would have to be reminded of who she is seeing as she is a woman (slight exaggeration). Haven't read any of the others so don't know how they stack up. It gets my vote for Irish Athletics Sports Book of the Year though!

Maybe if the odious Tom Humphries hadn't been involved...

The first line of the book gave him away. Something along the lines of 'The sky was the colour of bruised plums.' Couldn't see Sonia coming out with that one.

    .

Would take being regarded as a boring athlete and having an Olympic silver medal, 1 world gold, 3 european gold, 2 world cross and every national record from 800m to half-marathon.

She is a pretty complex charachter I would say. I find those people more interesting in that you don't know their lifestory within 30 mins of meeting them. But, personal preference I suppose.

    Her book didn't win anyway.
