PXE? Sounds like XP is having an issue with the Ethernet/LAN port. Unfortunately it can also be symptomatic of a bad BIOS or mobo :( Power down and disconnect from mains then disconnect the LAN cable (if you've got one in the back of the machine) and clear the CMOS by removing the mobo's coin battery for 20-30 seconds. Also have a go checking all the power connectors and IDE/SATA cables are properly seated and there's no tight kinks in the SATA data cables before having another shot. Does the BIOS show up all right? Check the boot order and make sure its set to optical drive first and the primary HDD next. You might want to disable the "Boot on LAN" option too.

Also check any IDE drives to make sure that if you have one on a cable that its set to master, and if you have two make sure they're set to Master (at the end of the cable) and Slave (near the middle). Two Masters on a single IDE chain can cause XP to try to boot from the LAN mistakenly.
