Practice Facilities

I'm looking for a practice facility somewhere that i can accurately measure out my distances (i.e. how far i hit the ball with each club).

I'm looking for somewhere fairly quiet and big that i can spend a bit of time to work it all out.

Can anyone recommend anywhere suitable? Any clubs with good facilities that i could get away with using? (possibly a tad cheeky, but maybe drop me a pm if you can think of anywhere!)

I know a few folks have mentioned these indoor places. I'm fairly sceptical about how accurate these would really be compared to a proper outdoor place, but would consider it too if people think they are good enough.

    Cheers in advance!

Maybe get yourself a metre measuring wheel and sneak down to the local GAA club some day? Also, would this not be a bad time of year to be measuring distances with the golfing season in mind?

Yeah, I'm looking just to get somewhere lined up to use after the new year sometime - probably around March. I was planning on just stepping the yardages out, but maybe your right, if i'm gonna do it right, i should maybe think about a wheel of some sort.

You can save yourself a lot of hassle and go to a pro that has a launch monitor.

Not one that makes you hit into a net, but an outdoors one.

Hit 20 balls with each club and take your average distance. A launch monitor will also show you the dispersion rate across the fairway.

Don't know of anyone with a launch monitor - maybe Leopardstown?
