    hey,

Is there anywhere in Galway to get out and about on the bike? Moved over from far side of the country, so don't know any good locations as yet. Used to find some off-track cycling to keep me entertained.

Where would be the best place to go around or near Galway??

I presume by Galway you mean Galway City - but just in case you're ever south of the county, Portumna Forest Park has some recently developed excellent cycle trails - approx 40 miles from the city though!

    There's:

Barna Woods, very small but close to the city

RosCahill (Spelling), which is good fun and about 3-4 km past Moycullen (on the right heading from Galway)

There is a forest in the Brothers of Charity grounds in Clarinbridge which is about 12-15 km from the city out the Limerick road. Only been there once but its really mucky and I didn't enjoy it too much so never returned!

There is Renville woods out in Oranmore, haen't been in a while so not sure what its like.

And as mentioned above the new one in Oughterard is good. And Portumna has plenty of track to keep you entertained.
