I dont know the first thing about those cars but (you could probably buy those for alot less than advertised price) you would be getting a frightening amount of car for 5 - 6k. Id only buy if I had other means of transport for the daily driving and expect to keep it til its worthless.
Insurance, tax, petrol, and maintenance would be scary enough but at least you wont be loosing a fortune on depreciation

You'd really have to go take a look, although neither one looks great to me.

The 7k one is deffo genuine according to Cartell, the other is "Mercedes Unknown" so could be.

Cartell is only really a loose indicator though.

    Nice find.

If you're serious, I would strongly advise that you get somebody who knows something about them to inspect it. You could be getting into serious money if you buy a bad one.

With a car of that milage, chances are that it needs something major done or is close to needing something. A recent service and NCT are nice, but it's no guarantee.

Have you considered looking in the UK? You could source one in great condidtion from an enthusiast that has looked after it.

Would one of these even do 20mpg? That's another consideration unless you own a petrol station:D

Looking for those myself hard to find em here. M3s in uk go for not much more than 325 330 etc but VRT catches you hard.

How do these compare to an M5? Lots of horses I guess but are they any good in the chassis department?

Yeah like i said if you know anyone that could inspect. I'm seriuosly looking for some nice power for small money i think now is the time. 10k budget.

I'm looking in uk alright but vrt is still awful.

15 if your lucky i'd say but it's not going to be used for day to day obviously.

God i love those. If i was buying one i'd buy the 98 because of the Mono block wheels. Those other Brabus alloys just make it look like an old tarted up Merc, i think the Mono blocks make the car. There was an English one forsale, it could well be the 98, and it was forsale for ages, and i mean ages. So i'd say bargain hard, and i'll guarantee in three years time i'll buy it off you:D

Edit: Oh holy mother of god

Anything like that you'll buy cheaper here at this moment than the UK

sometimes less then the actual VRT amount itself.

I'm nearly sure the AMG's don't suffer the same problems as stock mercs as they've upgraded or modified the engine, brakes, suspension, drivetrain, gearbox etc etc etc.

They go like a house on fire, and I don't even get over 20mpg unless I'm on a motorway and that's a S320, anything with 55, 65 or 63 in an AMG you're looking at around 12mpg if you're lucky and about 3mpg if you're giving it socks.

    Melikes :D

Remember, folks, we need to find a new energy source because oil (as a profitable energy source) will be gone in about 50-100 years time. Anyone who can speed this process up to force us to find an alternative energy source is a hero. Let's rev the bejaysis out of our engines in support of the environment! :D
