there's an 80Gb and a 160GB version of the PS3 being sold at the moment. Neither are backwards compatible, you need the elusive 60GB model for that.

Not really gonna comment on your games because i don't know what you like but i found GTA IV to be a bit of a disappointment. I would recommend Call of Duty and Mirror's Edge (if you can download the time trials times)

The offers are all pretty similar, for €399 you'll get the console with some sort of bundle to go with it. Smyths have a choice of a select bunch of games, some are ok. Argos have a choice of 3 games BUT you'll get a second controller (worth about €60). Gamestop are selling it with a selction of games also and Game are selling it with bundles of two games. Personally i'd go for the extra controllor option because at the moment, most of the big shops are selling games pretty cheap. I saw GTA and Mirror's Edge for less than 35 this weekend.

Also, if you're buying a PS3, do your homework on it. It can do a vast amount of stuff and to get your money's worth, you should really look into it's multimedia potential

As far as I know there is a 160Gb version as well, but neither will play PS2 games as the backwards compatibility was removed some time ago.

Can't comment on NFS, but I did enjoy GTA IV. If you're not getting a bundle deal, you can pick up some new and newish release games on play.com for €15-25. Rainbow 6 Las Vegas, Saints Row 2, GTA IV, Far Cry 2

No idea where has the best deal. Maybe have a look at the offers in Argos and Xtravision

    Good luck.

Personally, I loved GTA IV and Uncharted: Drakes Fortune. You can also get some really cheap games second hand in GameStop. Saw Beowolf for a tenner. Probably a useless game, but maybe worth it for the price?

Xtra vision are doing the 60GB PS3 with Need for Speed:Undercover and 300 Blu-ray movie. You also get the remote control.
All for €430 which is very good as the remote is €25 on it's own.

No, not just Bluray...if you can find a good website, you can stream TV Shows, Movies and Music from your PS3 internet browser. You can also play them on your PC and stream them through Media Player or Tversity. Your other option would be downloading these files and putting them on a USB stick (this probably produces the best quality), the PS3 has a lot of (not all) codecs, so you can watch most video types on it!

exactly as above. I've a PS3 in my house i use it more for watching shows than games. i love the fact you can stream from the net on it and put PS1 games on your psp from it. like i said, do you're homework, it's an incredible console and can do plenty so get you're money's worth
