Keyboard shortcut to open a programme

    Hi all,

I'm teaching a partially sighted student and he needs to be able to open applications like MS Word a little easier than he's doing now.

We have the laptop set up exactly as he wants it in terms of accessibility settings, so getting to open applications with keyboard shortcuts would finish the job.

For example, setting Ctrl+Alt+W to open MS Word.

    Can this be done?

    Thanks!

    windows key+r + winword = word ?

could prolly change the winword to word or w maybe.

hmm, cant see a way to create kb shortcuts but if you want to go the run command route, all shortcuts are created in the winnt folder on 2k so I assume in the windows root folder in xp/vista ?

Easy. Just set up shortcuts to the programs in question, or modify the ones already in the Start menu. Right click on the shortcut, select Properties and you'll see a box called "Shortcut key". Pop the mouse cursor in there and press the key combination you'd like. Bob's your uncle!
