Lightroom 2 is available as an upgrade on Amazon (US) for $90. It is €120 here. About €50 difference. Way too much.

I have become a semi legal user over the last few years (using my daughters student version of PS) and have a full version of LR but Adobe's pricing policy pisses me off completely.

Adobe you are driving people who want to stay legal away. It's just too much of a ripoff to ignore.

*sigh* I was thinking of upgrading to LR2 also... the price difference is unbelievably annoying when you're just downloading a bit of software, and I seem to remember once you've registered you can't just nip across to the US store, download it from there and let them charge you in US$ on your credit card.

Like you say, doesn't encourage legal purchases one bit!

Is there an answer though? The number of times I've seen Adobe's pricing debated, it seems there isn't... :-(

I bought my copy of Lightroom when I visited the US. Much cheaper there, especially considering the exchange rate when I bought.

I would have thought that the PS promotion for elements users last February would have shown how much people would be more likely to license legitimately if the cost was down versus the current licensing costs. I've been looking at Creative Suite licences and they are still on the high side I think.
