Was reading an Article here and it mentioned that a cup of coffee/tea in Dublin was 3.50 Euro.
Is this the dearest you've come across?
What at most are you willing to pay for a cup of coffee/tea if out and and about?

Anything over 1.50 for a teabag and hot water is for me, a rip-off.
I don't care if it comes with a saucer!

Would you pay extra for the cup?

Pighead doesn't drink tea nor coffee and therefore is unable to add anything to this thread.
Thanks for nothing Biggins. Exclusionism at it's worst. Drinkist.

Have you not been culled yet porky?

I'd pay a good 20 euro. For a Thermos flask.

I never understand the concept of paying extra for a larger cup of tea. It's not like they're adding in extra tea-bags or tea-leaves, just boiled water.

But I agree, anything over the price of 1.50 for tea is a complete rip off, considering they probably bought 400 teabags for 20euro.

Nope, Pighead has been around since before September and is therefore ok to leave in your fridge.

Good stuff, but don't leave any imprints in the butter.

Pighead won't touch your butter. He may top up your mayonaisse though.

Anyway back on topic, Pighead doesn't drink tea nor coffee.

Maybe in the Westbury or somewhere like that. Average price of a coffee in Dublin is probably about 2 euro I'd say.

    That's not the topic.

There's an organic cafe on Essex street in Dublin that sells a 16 ounce mug of the nicest americano for 1.70!! Can't go wrong with that.

Most of the pigs at were effected were around since before september ;)

Coffee is more expensive than tea in most places, I don't mind spending extra for a nice mocha or cappuccino. Tea should be about 2 euro a cup max... :)

I suppose it could be worse...
If you consider yourself a tea connoisseur of sorts and love to drink expensive cups of tea, the Ritz Carlton of Hong Kong boast the world’s most expensive High Tea at a price of $8,888 per couple.

Every time I go to get a cup and quick lite bite to eat though, a tenner is gone in a flash! :(

I was in O Briens yesterday. I asked for a small cappucino. €2.60 (take a way)

Going on that size, i imagine the extra large is big enough to have a bath in!

I dont drink coffee but a cup of tea in the WestCoast beside me is €1.70 for a tall and €1.75 for a large.

"Normal" price in Dublin is about 2.50 - 3.00 euro - some places have a little wheeze of adding in a small biscuit as a means of adding on an extra 0.50 cent to the price.

Anythin at 2.50 or less is reasonable IMO.

I used to work in a cafe and was asked to work out the costings for all our hot drinks. If memory serves me correctly it cost us something like 4c to make a tea for one (not including overheads like staff costs, light, heat...) and I think we charged €1.60. A shot of expresso was 12c I think, and we charged €1.80 or something .

We had regulars coming in 5 days a week, some twice a day, and with them each spending upwards of €3 a pop it works out being really expensive.
