I think it's time to delete all those forums no longer used or with extremely low thread counts.

Look at the Games Forums..2nd life/WoW/Warcraft/AoC.
There's about 5 threads in each, and all of them are old.
Same for BF2/Call of Duty etc.
Why not start grouping the games forums by say FPS/RPG/SIM etc and fire away from there?
It's not just the games forums..some of the others are equally as bad..
    Even the sports forum..
A forum for Rugby, another one for Rugby league?
A forum for Ultimate Frisbee with 4 threads?
So mods..get yere asses in gear and start spring cleaning early :D

What's the problem with that? The codes are completely seperate. They are not the same sport.

sounds like a great idea to me. Sounds like the most obvious way to do it to be honest

    Short answer = No.

Basically deleting the forums will orphan the threads that others may wish to read at a later date. Just because the forum is there doesn't impact you.

For forums that are totally dead or for one reason or another not to be used anymore they get they thrown into a special category. I forget how to list it.

Is it the inactive category? I think I remember it being visible by accident a while back.

I'm just thinking from a database point of view...you see lots of ppl requesting a forum for this or that and then there's only ever about 5 thread in it..
I'm sure you can't keep expanding and creating new forums continuously over the next few years without some form of cleanup?

Have there been many forums or sub forums deleted ?
I'd agree that ye could do with an overhaul. What the hell's with the Wanderly Wagon forum like ? And there's already beena thread discussing the Games forums

Surely OP has a point, there are some amount of forums never used.

I fail to see why this issue actually matters to anybody. Yes there are infrequently used forums - so what, you don't have to read them!

I think it's time to delete users who have been here since 2006 with less than 1000 posts.

Wait, what game is this again?

How about not deleting them , but removing them from the top tool-bar

How about not deleting them and not removing them from the nav bar?

Sometimes I get bored and go through old forums.
This usually happens at the weekend when there aren't too many people on.
