I am buying a camera bag for a mate, can you photographers please tell me where is a good place to buy them. Preferably in Dublin city.

I'd rather buy it in a shop because my cards are a bit maxed. He really likes the 2 lowepro slingshot 200 aw...OK...have to google image it.

If you could, please, check the FAQ sticky, that could give you some ideas for the beginning.

I went into Gunn's on Wexford St. last Saturday enquiring about a Lowepro Slingshot 200 AW based on the positive recommendations they got on this forum. The lady behind the counter said that she didn't have the 200 in stock but she showed me the 100 model which I quickly decided wasn't big enough for me.

Then she remembered that she had her own personal Slingshot 200 on the premises so she plonked it up on the counter, opened it up and I was able to see it in action before my very eyes and I was able to gauge based on her equipment that the bag was suitable for me. She took my number and yesterday (Mon) at 17:06 she rang to say that the 200 was now in stock.

While I'm a big fan of Internet shopping, this is most definitely the kind of service that you can only get in a bricks and mortar shop so I wholeheartedly agree with all of the good things said about Gunns here plus for a bag you really do need to touch and feel the goods before buying.

The Lowepro Slingshot 200 is 89.99 in Gunns, 99.99 in Halls and 109.99 in both Conns and the Camera centre at the top of Grafton St. On Jessops it's GBP 88.08 (Eur 101.81).

There are always bags and cameras and lens for sale on adverts.ie, don't think you should be piggybacking on a thread to plug your goods.

I picked up the Lowepro Commercial AW last week from Calumet. It's big, but it's a beauty.

Takes 2 SLRs, 5 lenses (including 2 very large zooms), tripod, monopod, batteries, charger etc and still has room to spare.
