Anyone got old wheels or tyres?

Hi, I'm getting a turbo trainer for Christmas and don't want to shred my nice new tires on it! I was just wondering if anyone had any old/spare wheels/tires lying around that I could use instead. Not willing to spend much!

    P.S. It's the 700C Road size I'm looking for!

You not gonna get the trainer specific tyre so?

Maybe chance your arm and try some LBSs, but I'm sure someone around here has an old one.

Unfortunately I am hanging onto mine for a similar purpose :)

I have a couple of tyres you can have gratis if you can pick up in Sandyford. Nice, lightweight, Schwalbe Ultremos :D

You are giving away your ultremos?

These are well worn-though Ultremos, around 8-10,000km in, not good for road use, indeed might even be marginal for the trainer on full pressure (replaced as tube was doing a bit of bulging through.) I replaced with new Ultremos BTW, I like those tyres.

Thanks for the offer, but thats just a bit too far from Limerick! I kinda work part-time in a bike shop anyway so I'll just pick one up there! Never thought of that...cheers! ;)

ha! was in halfords in letterkenny last night and picked up continental ultra sport for €1.50 (i had to ask twice and looka t the bill before i believed them) now all i need is a wheel (anyone? )
i have a 6 speed wheel with a screw on sprockets but its seized and the bike is 7 speed now anywhere i can get 7 speed screw on ? (or a 7 speed wheel someone doesnt want)

considering i've delaminated a maxxis re-fuse on the trainer (thought the trainer was broke) weirdest noise off a bubble underneath the main tread was ready to send the trainer back until i investigated a bit more

7 speed screw on block should be available from your local bike shop, maybe even Halfords. Will require a tool to remove your old one (if buying, bring wheel to shop as there are several different types of removal tool).
