    Hi all,

Just wondering do men out there send Christmas cards as in to friends, collegues etc. Or would it be regarded as something men wouldn't do. Also would men in their 20's send Christmas cards?

    Just wondering.

    Thanx.

I send cards to show appreciation for work done for me throughout the year and for those that have been equally respectful to me and/or my wife.

    Its the thought that counts.

I am not in my 20's (anymore) but i am sure that for every 1000 men who dont send cards there are another 5000 who do and a nice gesture .

( the ones who might laugh at the idea will be the ones who get no cards )

Jaysus I would dread the day I have to write and send christmas cards.
Imagine the work involved. Buying the cards. Writing the cards. Putting them in the horrible tasting envelopes. Paying for stamps. Posting the cards.
The thought of it has me knackered. I thought only HR departments send Christmas Cards now. Although I am just dreading that first Christmas email with a Drive Santa's Sleigh flash game.

I'm straight, 21 and I just sent off a few cards to family and friends across the world - the written form is so much more personal and intimate than an email or phone call.

    I moisturise though :P (doctor's orders!)

I recieve every year at least 3 cards from male ( straight ) friends in London and about 4 or 5 from Ireland .It would be impolite not to return them and a nicer personell way of staying in touch .Emailng greetings is ok with strangers .

Ah no come on lads, if some men start sending cards, then all of us will be expecred to do so.
    I can hear it now;

"My friend Jane says that her boyfriend sends her a card every day from the 8th to the 25th of December. It's so romantic. And look at me - stuck with you. Why do you never do anything like that?"

"Would you not send a card to your mother? Your brother does. Why can't you be more like him?"

"Gareth sent cards to all his work colleagues. Why can't you be more like that? Show them you care."

You see what you're starting??? Causing trouble for all of us lasy bastards, who just want to watch the telly and drink beer. F**king cards...

So we won't be getting yours this year? :(
O' dear, last years one from you was lovely with all the flower decorations on it amid the hearts and snow scene.
The wife loved the little pictures you drew of the teddy bears dancing in the snow. She said you were very cute. :o

It's a shame not everyone felt that way or maybe this year I'd be less Grinchy.

Correction... house-trained men give cards to their girlfriends.

The rest of us know better.

    Eh... no.

I'd give cards to my parents.

    Friends get drink.

So hand crafted cards to girlfriend is a no no for you then? What about origami roses (they're harder to make than you think!)?

This reminds me of the Simpsons episode when Apu gets in trouble with the rest of the men for not being romantic enough.

Either you've the story mixed up or that sentence needs restructuring...

Hmm, upon re-reading, you're right. Homer and the rest of the men of Springfield attack Apu because he threw a Valentine's extravaganza for his wife (after years of neglect).

Being romantic or even caring (as in the case with sending cards or writing letters) is something that will be appreciated just as much as buying that diamond ring for someone.

Letters/cards exist and can be taken out and re-read - not like the emails locked away on your computer. Of course cards and letters are for close friends only.

Nope, I do not send cards. But whenever Flying Spaghetti Monster Day becomes official, everyone I know will get one.

May you be touched [non-sexually] by His Noodley Appendage.

depends on my mood, but sometimes i might just kick up the urge to send around a christmas card to those people I refuse to admit that I used to be friends with...

Real men don't even accept Christmas cards, let alone send them. We open then, check them for cash, bin them.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

I only give cards to my relations. I haven't given cards to friends for a good few years now.

I don't think there's anything wrong with men sending cards, as long as you don't write some ghey sentimental bull**** in it.
A simple "Happy Christmas, From (name)" will suffice.
