    A few weeks ago I tore my hamstring playing soccer and I was out of work for 4 days I went back playing tonight and I have been so unlucky I tore my calve muscle and I just cant walk. I dont know what im going to do the thought of ringing in is a nightmare and I am not permanent yet only in the job since june. I dont know what im going to do

    Can you work with your calf torn? You should seek a doctors cert at least, employers are pretty understanding about this kind of thing.

    Strap it up and get some rub (ibuprophen i think) and suck it up for the day, if i had someone who took 4 days off for a hamstring tear i would be keeping a close eye on you.

    Employers are understanding if they know you're for real. Given the circumstances I would probably make the effort to go in and show my face (possibly after a doctor's visit plus getting a note). Get a taxi there if you have to, find some way of getting in. I think your boss would appreciate the effort and dedication, and would most likely tell you to go home anyway (hopefully!) - you'd then be off the hook for as long as your doctor will put on your note :)

    Oh I would also suggest either not playing football for a while, or taking it *really* easy!
