    Can 2 PS3's find each other on a LAN and do they have LAN features (excluding games just the PS3 OS its self)?

    What type of features exactly do you mean?

    If i know what you are getting at then not really apart from if you put Linux on it.

    If you don't have internet access and you want to play against each other across wireless LAN or crossover cable etc I would say that wouldn't work either.

    To use the lan in cod4;
    1)Connect both ps3 to the same router
    2)Set up a game on one
    3)Refresh in the second and join

    You mean you want to share stuff from PS3 to Ps3??? Just think for a moment. Have youy ever seen any option to share out a folder etc on a PS3? No so why would you think it would even be helpful if a PS3 can see another PS3 on the lan?

    You need a PC style OS to do that, so Install Linux if you want that sort of ability. Better yet, use a PC.

    No. I was at afriends one night, and we hooked up our ps3's to his router, and we weren't able to share files.

    Just get a USB memory stick. Or better yet, a ms pro duo or an sd card :D

    Just curious thats all. TBH I only got one recently so i haven't trecked through the options and settings too much. They are UPNP compatiblie so i was wondering if they use that to advertise any services etc to the LAN,

    Now there is no reason its not possible to do this, Im sure it could be an option in a future software release but i can not see the demand out there for it. Few households have more than one PS3, they might have multiple consoles but usually only one of each with the exception of a few basement type nerds so the demand is not there.

    Euuugh, the ps3 is terrible for networked gaming. Both local and online. Interface and functionality are terrible. Tried playing resistance 2 there the other night, hmv already got resistance back, and the ps3 isn't gonna get another chance not to be just a blu ray player for a while! But I did pick up little big planet in fairness :)
