    Yep..did my mates one last night. 500GB PS3 :D

    If you make sure to download the latest updated from Sony for the PS3 as when you put in the 500Gb drive it would not be able to format it etc due to the size of the updates being bigger than the flash memory on the PS3.
    Copy the file then to a Fat 32 formatted USB stick (create folder on it called PS3 and within this create another folder called UPDATE, file goes into this folder).
    Follow the onscreen instructions (hold select+play) and so on.
    5 mins later your PS3 is ready. Be aware though that the PS3 reserves approx 10% of a drive for it's own use so you'll only have 451GBs free ..still loads though :D

    can u plug in a card reader and a usb hub cause my son wants to hav more usb sockets

    Hubs work fine. I am not so sure about card readers though.

    What are the best deals available for PS3 80GB I was gong to buy a Sony Blue Ray Player but I am now thinking of a PS3 instead. I will be using it for some Games, streaming with Tversity from a server and dvd and blueray playback.

    I am interested in shops in the Republic, couldn't face or dont have the time to go North despite the deals.

    I want Little Big Planet, a second controller and maybe a remote ? Any help greatly appreciated.....

    I'm pretty sure the best deal you'll get down here at the moment is €400 with 2-3 games and maybe an extr controller, just take a wander around the shops until you find one with LBP included!

    the best offer u can get would be in gamestop u get little big planet or motorstorm 2 or resitistance 2 and a extra controller and three used dvds (not blu ray)
