    Hi,

Have a noob question, was given a Cybergun M4A1 as a present at the weekend, its my first airsoft gun and its been ferociously good fun so far. My question is on the side of the box it says 1.2 joule maxi, does this mean it can't be used at a site/skirmish in Ireland? It was bought over the counter in the Republic, price was about e250.

    Thanks

The gun was most likely downgraded prior to importation..but..if it wasnt not

only can you not use it..your in posession of an unlicensed firearm as per

    the CJB 2006.

Also you were grossly overcharged for that gun.

    yeah its a ripoff alright,

but as far as cybergun stuff is concerned, the readings they claim are usually a good bit off. one of mine claims .95J or something and its firing at 240ish., i wouldnt worry about the writing on the box OP, unless theres other reasons for you to believe its over powered.,

If you think it might be you can bring it to a retailer or skirmish site and they'll chrono it for ya there.,

    Eh lads,
In the last two posts I said i got it as a present, therefore I wasn't ripped off (but my nearest and dearest might well have been!). Had a look around the internet and this is the same one http://www.shop-gun.fr/product.php?id_product=67
What I wanna know is if it is too powerful can it can be downgraded?
    Thanks

Yeah if its over the joule you can get it downgraded. Some retailers will do downgrades for you first one that comes to mind is Eirsoft.ie Richie is able to take a gearbox apart blind folded at this point :P

Bring it to one of the dedicated airsoft retailers whom will only be too happy to chronograph it for you. Then you can put your mind at ease. :)
