Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What's your favourite hormone?

I think mine has to be adrenaline, I love the feeling of butterflies, whether good or bad! I guess my least hormone would be the one that makes me cry and sulk for no reason (posibly estrogen?).

Testosterone is probably my favourite, because without it I'd be a chick! And I don't want people thinking I'm a girl, now do I? (grr fonpokno )

Least favourite? Whichever ones are responsible for acne.

I definitely share your hatred on that one!

Hey girls have testosterone too! Just tiny amounts, don't wanna be turning into giant hairy man-beasts though!

Is that why guys seem to have more acne than girls?

Yeah I don't like testosterone, it's responsible for so many bad things!

    Adrenaline ftw.

No, it's because we don't have make-up to cover it up :p

    Nah, that'd be makeup :p

But seriously, yeah, excessive androgens present in the adolescent body are a big factor in acne. That's why the pill is prescribed to girls with acne.

My doctor once consoled me for my acne by saying, "well it's a sign you have a lot of testosterone anyway" *wink.

Unfortunately, he's a middle aged man, and not a young, hot female doctor.

EDIT: Heh, challengemaster got there before me with the makeup quip. It's quite true though. Look at videos from the 70s/80s when wearing makeup was less prevalent among young girls. They seem to have a lot more acne than girls nowadays.

How do you make a hormone?
    Kick her in the gee

    Have fun kids, stay safe.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,005 ✭✭✭Creature

Estradiol. Funbags would be a whole lot less fun without it.

I tend to take my hormones for granted-mostly because I've never met any of them.

But, I hear good things about Growth Hormone. It's been good to me;)

    Hugs for Squigloo! *hugs*

Serotonin wins always. Chocolate gives me serotonin. Exercise would also give me that but meh!

Test, because without it I'd be all weak and small.

Good for some sports related aggression too!

It's been cruel to me ...it apparently decided to fcuk after I hit 12. So, I've been the same height since then. I've actually met first year secondary school students who are taller than me. Oh, the pain of it all!:pac:

I do love adrenaline, though. Or the one that's released when you eat chocolate, listen to music, or are in love! (Aw!) :D

the thyroid hormones can be pretty awesome. had problems with mine, meant i had tonnes of energy, didnt need hardly any sleep and could eat as much junk as i wanted and lose weight!

alas, my thyroid gland has since been 'fixed' (removed), and all is working normally. :(

twas fun while it lasted though.

Seratonin actually is better than adrenaline on second thoughts, I prefer the calm happy buzz to the figety, twitchy buzz.
