After having spent ages doing up my bike, someone's after helpin themselves to it and my sisters bike last night. Stolen from the railings in Fitzwilliam Square.

Heres the work Id put in to her:-

Mine is a barracuda, though has no decals on it. Hers is a ladies Giant Cypress, blue and silver.

They seem to have used bolt cutters on mine and forced her u-lock.

Fairly annoying, but thats what I get for putting faith in people - should have brought her in each night. Lesson learned!

Naturally, if anyone comes across either of them, do let me or the Gardai in Harcourt Terrace know. Otherwise, someones getting a nice pressie of my bike this Christmas!

Anyone know of a good large framed second hand bike for sale!?

Jaysus, I've been there. It's like a violation, someone is man-hanldling your baby. I secretely hoped that the degenerate who stole mine would have a horribly disfiguring accident on it.

But I NEVER lock my bike in the middle of city centre anymore. My daily communte brings my just past aungier street and where I lock it is pretty secure (jinx!) so I bring it there. I don't know about you lot but my pet peeve in life is crowded sidewalks, slow walkers, and I watch with envy as cyclists whizz by...but it's that or constantly worry about some scumbag stealing/trashing my bike.

Some car parks accomodate bikes so check those out. Oh, and for anyone locking their bikes near Stephens Green Luas, be VERY careful...I've noticed scum a few times walking slowly up and down the bikes, eyeing them (that's where mine got nicked). The worst part is, the guards KNOW who these guys are and if they just ONCE stood there they would catch them in the act!

But that's a rant for another day...anyway bud, good luck and remember, time heals all :)

Maybe the Gardai have done that. And what happens ? Maybe the thieves are arrested, maybe they even go to court. I seriously doubt they go to jail and bingo they are out next day on the street, back robbing bikes. What do the Gardai do about that? Keep standing at the railings every day?
