Good price for a truly excellent piece of kit - great sound out of it.

Found this - I have never ordered off them so I have no idea how good they are but seems a very good price

    £169 - free delivery (approx €190)

Their web page for delivery charges says the following:

    Ireland

All orders sent to Ireland (excluding Northern Ireland which is covered by the UK Mainland charges) are sent by Royal Mail Airsure and the cost of delivery will be between £7.50 and £15.00 depending on the value, size and weight of the goods ordered.

Orders for Ireland must, at present be placed by telephone and delivery charges will be quoted at the time of order. Delivery is usually within 3 working days.

Yes - but I checked up and there is free delivery on this item.

As their site wasn't the best, I was a bit sceptical about them but the following post seems to suggest they are legit:

Did you give them a call to confirm they will deliver free to the Republic of Ireland?

The second one has no speakers for a start. I have one of those - connected through an amp and it's great. There was none with speakers available when I bought it - if so I'd have bought one for the kitchen too (ended up buying a regular stereo for there)

cheeres sorry for the stupidity was right there in front of me never copped.

Finally managed to get a response from them via email today - their phone number on the site doesn't work. I rang them - they seem legit.

However, despite what it says on the site, they don't have any in stock. Getting them in 'next week'. Delivery is £10 so - £179 is very good value.

Hope that I get it now!

PM me if you want their number.

Just saw (typical!!) that Komplett has dropped the price to €199. I will be cancelling that original order!! - Fair play to Komplett

This may be a daft question, but, how much power do the speakers on this thing have? Is there any guide as to the size of room they can fill?

I currently have a mini hifi system, that looks a bit like this http://plymouth.gumtree.com/posting_images/80/30567680__1225636213__1__1-433df6b88979a98f24e7569c85f84ed7.__big__.jpg (it's a different model, this is just to give an idea of it's size) and I'm worried the squeezebox boom is not going to be able to fill my bedroom with enough sound.

MISPRICE - Ebuyer won't honour the promotional code.. Price is now £149 + delivery

As for the sound on this, I haven't got one so can't testify but any reviews I've read indicate that the sound is very good.

I googled that ebuyer dont do discount codes, despite the box being there to input.

Anyone know where this Squeezebox can be had cheaper ?

Seems they do. The £50 discount code applied to a price of £199 bringing it to £149 with discount. Appears they reduced the price to £149 and forgot to cancel the voucher code so I actually bought it and paid for it at £99..

Got an email the next day saying it was a misprice and mt order was cancelled. I've looked around a bit and ebuyer still seems the cheapest at £149 + delivery...

For some reason ebuyer have now increased this to GBP179.99 plus delivery.

Need to find this cheaper !

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,183 ✭✭✭jobless

so with this piece of kit you need to have your pc with all your music on so it can be used....

would people not find this a bit of a pain, switching on two machines(waiting for the PC to load).... or am i totally wrong in how this works?

Or a NAS (Network Attached Storage) drive that can make media files available on a share or, better still, via a built-in UPnP media server I presume?

yeah that's what i was thinking really

so in other words to use this you have to be an expert or smart arse in your case :pac:

Jobless, it can be used as an Internet radio without the need for having your PC turned on. If you want to stream music from your own library then if the music is stored on your PC's harddrive then you will have to have the PC on. You could store your music on an external hard drive on your network provided that hard drive is of a type which can run independently of your PC (a NAS drive). I'm no expert but that is as best as I can explain it.

Huh?!? Maybe you shouldn't ask questions if you don't want helpful answers? Just to clarify - you do need a brain to use these sorts of devices.

Just ordered this from Amazon.co.uk for £129 + €20 delivery. Big Time Bargain!!

Cheapest I have found this anywhere else is £179.99 + delivery

Amazon don't deliver to Ireland so I'm getting it delivered for free to a depot in Enniskillen and forwarded to me for €20.

    Here's how I ordered

    Order from here: http://tinyurl.com/dc47ou

Get a £50 saving using discount code: SQUEEZEI

Enter Delivery address for people who run recession bus tours http://www.recessionbustours.ie/contact_us.asp as follows:

    Niall Mulligan
    Tattinbarr
    Tattinbarr, Rosslea
    ENNISKILLEN, Co Fermanagh BT92 7QG
    United Kingdom

Then either before or after you order let Niall Mulligan at recession Bus Tours know that you ordered a parcel from Amazon and to expect it.

    They forward it on!

Mine is still in transit, I've no connection with the above and take no responsibility if they leg it with your merchandise. Posting it here as the deal will end before I receive mine (possibly)

Can someone add the price to the title of this thread?

Never used them but from speaking to them it sounds like a straight forward small operation. Will post here when I receive goods, think deal ends on 23rd march.

I just ordered one there, I was going to get another vistron mx200i for the kitchen but the squeezebox at this price is too good to pass up.

I'm not sure how the reshipper distinguishes between orders. He said the buyer usually tells them what they're expecting and from where and it works out fine. In this case if there are a number of orders from Amazon they could get confused. I added my own name and address to the amazon gift card for free... in case they needed to open it.. I presume the gift card is inside the package ..
