Laptop for €400

Looking for a latop for €400 max for a family memeber who is learning to use computers. Looking for nothing fancy. Can get it on line or from a shop as long as it gets here before Christmas. Any suggestions?

This looks pretty sweet, and comes in at €400 on the nose (minus shipping).

Spec is miles better than laptop above.

2Ghz Dual Core, 2Gb ram, very good value, it will run well and looks like a nice machine. Although I understand that laptopsdirect don't have a good rep here so you might want to track one down elsewhere.

That Lenovo is a similar spec and they are a good brand, it should be a sturdy reliable machine. Also €400 (plus shipping)

I wouldn't buy a laptop that came with Vista unless it had a dual core and 2Gb ram, especially for a user who won't be too familiar with removing startup programs, optimizing Vista etc.
