MMA League Final Round Results

2008 is in the books for the MMA League, and it has been a memorable one: First League event in Kilkenny, highest number of competitors across a season ever in the League's History and some of the greatest amateur matches ever to take place on these shores.

Dublin was a particularly large event and the atmosphere up there was amazing, we couldn't have run such a top class event if it wasn't for the help of a few people -
Colm O'Reilly for his help year around, at the Dublin Event and particularly with all his work keeping the Dublin leg afloat despite setback after setback

Clive, Jim, Shane, Ash and Dylan for refereeing and ushering and keeping the event running smoothly right through the day
Pearse and Paul for chipping in when the crew needed a break.
Dave Jones for bailing us out with a venue, and the trip down memory lane (Ah the King of the Mat!)
The spectators that turned up in droves and made sure the atmosphere was cracking the whole day long.
The teens who came along and gave it a go, and made it obvious that there IS room for teen divisions, and we will get them running next year.

FightLord for their sponsorship all year, making the League viable and giving each leg an extra something be it fastest submission or Fighter of the Year, we hope we can work with you guys again.

Lastly of course I must thank the fighters, without whom the league would be just the organisers swapping bad jokes in an empty hall, your support and enthusiasm for the league year round is what keeps me coming back each year to do it again.


Congratulations to Tom "The Scorpion" King for taking the FightLord Fighter of the Year award at the Dublin Event.

Great Tournament, thought the day went very smoothly. Most people listened to my bin your rubbish rant at the start, although someone did leave a set of keys behind so feel free to PM me if it was you.
