laser in the UK

    hello all..

    i have a guy ringing later with something i want to buy... what id like to know is can i use my laser card to pay? he takes credit cards so it should be ok??

    also is there a limit on how much you can buy per day? eg i want to buy about 1500 euro worth of stuff.. will this be a problem with this amount?

    No, Laser doesn't work in the UK, only the Republic of Ireland. However, if your laser is also a Maestro, they may accept the Maestro part, I know in Northern Ireland some places can't accept a Laser Maestro and it may be the same case in Mainland UK.

    it does have the maestro and cirrus logo on that back... is that teh maestro part your on about..

    Laser is Maestro and not all UK outlets take Maestro. You will need to check with him.

    Yep - that's the one, they may well accept that, then the next problem you might face is that if you don't have a security code on the back of the card they may not accept it over the phone, my laser does not have this code.

    I've AIB laser and they told me you have to get the retailer to select on his machine International Maestro not the standard Maestro they've got in britain which used to be switch solo cards or something like that
