I have a dell vostro just over 12 months old. For the past couple of days the internet pages keep showing up as non responding after a minute or 2. I have ran avg and norton 360 scans etc and nothing is showing up. I have windows XP and office 2008 installed.

Anybody any ideas about what could be wrong.
    Thanks a mil

First of all you connecting using wireless or Ethernet ( A cable )? Whats the name of the router you use for broadband and can you check what lights are currently on.

I don't think its the wireless as the problem has been occurring since the middle of the week when I was working off different wireless. In case though it is and eircom router, 3 green lights on for internet, dsl and wireless. Sometimes it might leave be browse pages for a couple of mins, others not at all. It has taken me about 5 trys to type this.

Running two Antivirus programs on the same setup can cause some horrific conflicts. Uninstall one or the other, but I'd start with AVG - it has known issues with screwing up internet connectivity.

I only installed norton since the the problem started so this isn't the reason for the problems with IE but I will uninstall avg. cheers
