Brendan and the secret of Kells is the first animated feature film from the Cartoon Saloon animation studio in Kilkenny. They had funding from a french production company hence the french version - it opens in france in Feb and will be in Irish cinema in March [english trailer is being edited together at the moment] I am slightly biased cus I worked on it but the finished film is really beautiful.

Beautiful ztoical. Fantastic animation. Love the George Carlin Monk (like the turn at 26 secs in). The fluid movement of the girl at 59 secs and the eyes through the leaves at the end. I couldn't draw a straight line with a ruler and a laser but I really appreciate animation. Looking forward to this in March (Round 17th I assume). Hope it does well for ye. Good luck

Mick Lally does his voice in the english version and Brendan Gleeson does the other main adult character - it was animated in english but it's opening in france first. And yeah they're aiming for just before the 17th of March.

Ah yeah, just thought he looked like Carlin (Hopefully he won't come out with "Seven words you can't put into the Book of Kells"). Will keep an eye out for it man. Good luck

That looks really good Ztoical, the artwork looks really beautiful.

Do you know anything about how widely it will be distributed in cinemas here ?

I see it's being shown as part of the Dublin Film Fextival. Must check it out
