Don't know really, depends on what type of pain, and on what surface it's on.

    Is white spirit an option?

I've tried white spirits but didn't have enough. It made a very slight improvement. Getting more white spirits now and going to attack it with a scrubbing brush.

    Try cellulose thinners.

    Then nitromors.

As you get more aggressive with the chemicals, be careful that you don't have an accident with them, especially when washing away. It is important to use eye protection gloves, and other appropriate gear.

Note, you need to consider and test whether these will damage the material of the sink.

Also, be sure you haven't blocked the sink with paint as well.

If it is Chlorinated rubber paint similar to what is used on car showroom and workshop floors then cellulose thinners is yer man. dont let it ruin your plastic traps in the sink.
