    Obivously dont mention any unmentionables...

I need to contact pretty much every semi-professional group who consistantly put on (or have signed) acts (of ALL genres) in Dublin...

    So far I've got

    Unversial
    Friction PR
    Choice Cuts
    and "one other"...

Anyone help me out with other companies or groups who regularly put on nights in Crawdaddy, Whealans etc etc... Or do the venues themselves usually organise the acts?

Universal is a record company and Friction PR is a PR company.

Get yourself a copy of the Hot Press yearbook and they're all in there.

Forever Presents is another indie promoter as well and there are plenty of indie promoters in the specialist areas - metal etc.

Which are the type of companies looking to promote bands in the media?

Is it the record labels, the PR or the promotions companies who you should be contacting if you want to get a SMALL (student) magazine added to their media list (where they call you to offer you interviews with bands theyre looking to push)...

Sorry, I'm that offay with the workings of the music industry.

Thanks for the names so far...

    That'd be more the label/PR company/management.
