How do you get the best out of the wii???

I admit to being really disappointed with it. We got it for xmas last year and it's hardly been used but the kids want new games for xmas this year. We only have Mario galaxy and wii sport.

But people seem to be able to do lots of other stuff with it.
Or can they without modding it?

I can't even find the homebrew channel.
But without modding or homebrew what else can we do with it really?
I admit to not having spent much time with it as it bored me very quickly which really disappointed and surprised me cos I was the one gunning for it to be bought in the first place and I like my gadgets normally.

    are you serious?

Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Raving Rabbids.

Buy games. wtf are you expecting it's a game console.

Nah, homebrew is poor for the wii at the moment. I'd advise you to get Resident Evil 5 for yourself, and maybe mario kart for the family.

    Thanks Kernal.

Santa is bringing Mario Kart and overall we are getting a few new games. Also thinking of trying the Zelda in the Wii shop. We LOVE Zelda on the DS.

Is Resi5 coming out on the Wii?! Or is that a typo?

So let me get this straight you have 2 games for a games console and are looking for something which doesn't exist/isn't supported by Nintendo and are disappointed with it?

How have you only bought 2 games in 12 months? OK I know some people on here complain about the games lineup but there is a half decent range of games for the Wii, well more than 2 before someone else says "no there isn't".

You are, arguably, missing Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Zack and Wiki, Mario Kart, Wii Play (not great but you get a wiimote with it), Super Paper Mario, Boom Blox, Okami, Sam & Max Season 1 (admittedly so was I till this afternoon) and you can always dive into some classic GameCube games. That is just a list off the top of my head.

p.s. The Wii is a games console not a gadget.

    .

    You need to go buy:

    Super Smash Brother Brawl
    Zelda
    Super Mario Kart Wii
    Resident Evil 4
    No More Heroes
    Wii Fit
    Call of Duty 4

Then wait a few months for
Fatal Frame :Mask of the Lunar Eclipse
    Fragile
    Ghostbusters
    Conduit

And they're just the VERY good games, there are lots more out there to fit specific tastes.

If you're still not satisfied, you have the whole GC back catalog probably going quite cheap these days.

Homebrew on the Wii is actually very impressive. It's great having all the emulators fro all the 8-bit and 16-bit consoles running perfectly.

After this comment I went back and got updates etc. of the homebrew, and yes, I agree it has come on very well. ScummVM and emulators on the wii are very nice indeed. I think I judged it on the very early days of homebrew, before things moved on. Can you use USB mass storage with homebrew on the wii now RG?
