Problems with chorus E.P.G.?

Just wondering if anybody has experienced similar problems. I am on digital cable in cork city using a sagem set-top box. Yesterday, the E.P.G. stopped loading new programme data for after 11.30pm. The issue was not resolved by this morning. Now the guide refuses to load and switches from the chorus screen back to the channel I was watching. The now/next data is working fine so i don't know how widespread a problem it is?

We seem to have a problem here with the EPG which claims to be for Monday 10th (of what month, it doesn't say) starting at 22:00. Whatever we do to change day it stays stubbornly on that date. Now and next appears to be OK though, at least at the moment.

Yeah, it's stuffed here too on chorus. Dropping you at ~23:30 when you go to any channel listing.

My UPC EPG in Chapelizod says it's Monday 10th at 10pm. Presumably November as the 10th was a Monday and Bertie is on RTE1.

    It's a little annoying!

Edit: Phoned 1908 and they have a recorded message acknowledging the problem. I'm sure they have some of their best people working on it as we speak!

Same problem here - noticed it yesterday, assumed it would be fixed quickly but no.
Frustating - Their support line must be one of the most customer unfriendly I have ever come across.

    Same Problem here!
Tried scanning for the network again, and pulling the power as well, but no joy!
it's getting a little frustrating now as I can't set up anything to record tonight!

Anyone from UPC here know what's going on?

NTL had the same problems (MMDS and Cable)

Have a UPC box and it's doing the same thing.

The correct info (date and program on now and next) displayed when you press OK but when you go into guide it's messed up. Says Monday 10.

Also in Cork, and having the same problem. What's irritating is that you can't even see what's on TV over the next few hours, so you don't know if there is anything you should be tuning into or not! I wonder if this is a satellite issue of some kind: it shouldn't have taken more than a few hours to fix something like this if it was a software glitch... .

Noticed this problem yesterday when I went to record something, Mon 10th as well. I'm in Dublin 15 with NTL/UPC. Tried rebooting box, no joy.

Still the same this morning, just checked there.

I wonder is it somehow related to their attempts at cracking down on illegal boxes?

Is the EPG working for anyone out there on upc/ntl/chorus ? Not me anyway in Dublin 14.

Once again this is another example where it would be very easy for UPC to reach out to customers to let them know there is an issue and that they are working on a fix. A simple email would suffice. Is that too much to ask? I work for an internet company and we keep our customers regularly updated about changes to the system.

Awareness of problems are put on the phoneline which was done.

I think I'm seeing a trend here with UPC - if something goes wrong on the weekend they tend to just leave it till monday

    My assumption:

The guy who does the EPG doesn't work weekends. He arrived in work this morning, switched it off and switched it on again. Presto, OK!

Lucky he didn't pull a Monday morning sickie.

It's amazing how much you miss something that you take for granted. It wasn't long ago when EPG's didn't exist. How did we ever survive?

Yeah but back in the day, when there wasn't much money to go around, RTE Guide cost money.

I do, however, have fond memories or "borrowing" my dads newspaper and turning to the inside back page for the tv listings.

Ok, going hugely off topic now but when was the name of that broadsheet that went out of print years ago. It had a purple mast head.

    Evening Press
    Irish Press
    Something else?

    Ah, those were the days....
