Flash my Sky Grundig box to use FTA epg..

    Hi Guys,

    I am completely sick of all the tricks Sky are playing with my box..I'm not using it for any subscription sevices, just free-to-air channels..Every so often I get "no signal is being received"

    I would like to know is there any to flash new FTA epg software onto my box and forget about sky completely..This new software will show only FTA channels and let me reorder them etc..

    I think this would be done through the RS232 port on the back.. I haven't the model number of the box atm but I can post it if needs..

    It would be great if I could as it would save me from buying a free to air box..

    I don't know of any alternative firmware for Sky's digiboxes. If you're really set on having just the FTA line-up, consider investing in a Freesat receiver or a plain old FTA receiver.

    Unfortunately , no you can not flash Sky boxes with different firmware. What you see is that you have.

    Let us know when you write a firmware for a completely propriatery piece of hardware.
